Our review

Refraction is a great puzzle game app for Android. I am a big puzzle fan and I have played most them. Refraction's unique idea is a step above any puzzle game I have come across, and its challenging levels only add to the quality of play. Once you have downloaded and opened Refraction you can begin playing sector 1 levels immediately. The first few levels are mostly to help you understand how to play, but as you move on you will quickly see that each level has its own thought provoking challenges. You start with a certain number of different colored lasers that need to reach the same colored circle. The lasers can be reflected and split to go around obstacles and make it to the coordinated circle. What you need to understand to play is that the mirrors only reflect and the prisms will split. A prism can split one color in two directions and mix two colors into one new color depending on what you need to win. The split color lines from the prism can be moved in whatever direction you want by simply tapping on the prism to choose which line you want to move. Once you understand that concept you are ready to go as long as you know that blue and yellow make green, blue and red make purple, and so on. The paid version currently has 120 levels with more updates on the way. I was told this game requires more thought than the average puzzler and I thought I would breeze through it. I was wrong, and I have a great deal of respect for the developers who were able to think of so many challenging levels. As you can see I am only into the 2nd sector out of 6. My favorite feature is that once you beat a difficult level you can save a screen shot to go look back on it and try to use less pieces and improve upon you best score. This is my favorite puzzler I have ever played and I love that it cannot be beat easily. I like to say that no game could ever be perfect because there would be no reason to play any other games but Refraction is as good as it gets for a puzzler which is why I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
